Rio Rancho seeks a visionary, dynamic and highly experienced fire services professional who is an accomplished leader and manager to serve as its next Fire Chief. The Fire Chief will oversee the work of a high-performing, customer service-oriented Fire Department and administer a total budget of approximately $10.7 million, leading a staff of 98 in the functional areas of Operations, Fire Prevention, Emergency Medical Services and Training. The Fire Department responded to approximately 9,000 calls from the City’s five fire stations in 2010. A new fire station is scheduled to open in late October 2011.
