Funeral Service for Phillip Jones, 74, of Tatum, New Mexico is scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at The First United Methodist Church in Tatum with the Reverend Johanna Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Tatum Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
He passed away December 18, 2011 at Nor Lea Hospital in Lovington, New Mexico. He was born January 18, 1937 to Ben and Pauline Jones in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He married Jane Richardson April 20, 1962 in Snyder, Oklahoma.
He was an active member of The First United Methodist Church in Tatum and a longtime resident of Tatum. He is a retired teacher and coach. He was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma (OU) and a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Band.
He is survived by his wife Jane Jones of Tatum, NM, daughter & son in law Janice & Kevin Wilson of Odessa, TX and one grandson Alex Wilson of Odessa, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one son Wesley Jones in 1985.
Pall Bearers are the Tatum Volunteer Fire Department and Honorary Bearers are the Coffee Shop crew.
